Ultrasound technology has been freely available on the market for private persons for a few years now in the form of diagnostic, therapeutic and cosmetic devices. Especially cosmetic devices are attributed, among other things, with a strong biological effect, e.g. for skin tightening and body fat reduction.
Since September 2020, we at GAMPT collaborate with the German Federal Office for Radiation Protection on a project to assess the possible health risk and investigate the biological damage potential of these ultrasound-based devices for home use that currently do not fall within the scope of medical devices and therefore are not subject to strict regulatory requirements.
We are very pleased to be able to contribute to this project with our long-term expertise and our technological possibilities in the field of ultrasonic measurement technology for the quantitative measurement of ultrasonic sources.
